[Taste Menu | Cairo | Egypt's national delicacy "Koshary", this old shop in Cairo is a must-try]
Koshary is Egypt's national affordable delicacy, so there are countless Koshary shops in Egypt. After trying it in several cities in Egypt, I still like the taste of Cairo the most, and this is the best one I found in Cairo~
They claim to be "the only one, no other branches" and their business is booming, so what should they do if their business is too good? Just expand and increase the height of the building; after decades, it finally becomes a building (Figure 9) ~
The whole building only sells one kind of food, which is Egypt's national affordable food, Koshary~

------ What is Koshary ------
Egyptian people cook the local version of pasta, macaroni, and rice in Egypt, mix them together when eating, and then spread the soul fried dry and fragrant ✨ crispy fried onions ✨, with lentils and boiled tomato sauce, and finally pour garlic vinegar on it. Those who can eat spicy food can also add chili sauce, which is composed of a dish that is not good-looking but surprisingly delicious. Kushari~
The reason why it is Egypt's national affordable food is that it does not contain meat and the main ingredients are basically staple foods, so the price is cheap, generally ranging from 10 to 20 Egyptian pounds. This store charges 11 Egyptian pounds for a small portion, 15 Egyptian pounds for a large portion, and 18 Egyptian pounds for a special portion (with chickpeas)~
---- Let's eat -------
According to experience, their store is superior to other stores in the following aspects:
🌟Authentic tomato sauce with natural flavor, completely different from supermarket tomato sauce and those that are not well made and watery;
🌟Exclusive garlic vinegar with no garlic taste and refreshing;
🌟The Egyptian version of pasta, macaroni and rice are well proportioned and taste good;
There are basically two ways to eat bitter shari, and there is always a flaw in ordinary stores:
First, ✨Stir while eating✨. At the beginning, you will always stir in more seasonings, which makes the bitter shari full of aroma and taste, but when you have eaten half of it, the remaining seasonings are not enough, and time and water make the noodles and macaroni swell and become Soft, the second half of the bowl is not very delicious~
Second, ✨Add chili and garlic vinegar and mix well✨, which makes up for the previous problem, but the seasoning is still a little too little, so the taste is bland~
🌟🌟🌟And the special version of this restaurant, in addition to adding chickpeas, has a lot more seasonings, and the tomato sauce is poured in a cup according to your taste, which makes up for the shortcomings of the ordinary version. No matter how you eat it, it is delicious. Then mix in chili and pour on the garlic vinegar that has no garlic taste. There is no doubt that it is the best Kushari restaurant in Cairo~
✨Their restaurant is the most visited restaurant when traveling in Cairo. A bowl of rice pudding under the hot weather is also excellent. Be sure to order it~
